Princess Máxima has been in the Dutch public eye for more than a decade now, and thanks to her wholesome good looks and easy-going manner combined with her genuine regard for the more stately duties of her position, has become nationally regarded as the “most popular royal” in the Netherlands, appreciated by her royal “in-laws”, the Dutch people and the Dutch sensationalist press alike.
Máxima recently turned forty and the Dutch marked the occasion with a special exhibition in her honour, a documentary on tv (also to be aired in Germany) and a special concert at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
